another educational lesson: oatmeal

so another delicious treat i am addicted to! here is why this is a must-add to your breakfast routine!

1. Soluble fiber may reduce LDL cholesterol without lowering HDL cholesterol. LDL is bad; HDL is good.
2. Oatmeal slows down your digestive process making you feel full longer, it helps control weight.
3. It has been found that those who eat more oats are less likely to develop heart disease, a disease that is currently widespread in the United States.
4. The phytochemicals in oats may also have cancer-fighting properties.
5. Oats are a good source of many nutrients including vitamin E, zinc, selenium, copper, iron, manganese and magnesium. Oats are also a good source of protein
6. Oatmeal reduces the risk or type 2 diabetes.

Who wouldn't want to eat this cancer fighting-heart disease preventing-nutrient rich treat!?!?!

how i make it: put about 3/4C dried oats in a large (tall) cereal bowl add lots of cinnamon, depending on the day i can add: walnuts, frozen blueberrys, raisins, or chopped apples or i mix in bananas and strawberrys after its cooked. Cover with water until some oats start to float. microwave for about 3:30! Enjoy ....i also add a touch of coffeemate creamer when its done cooking for extra flavor!

I wish I was physically ABLE to stomach oatmeal. Just the smell/sight/thought of it makes me feel completely nauseated.
